To survive, people need to be flexible and adaptable in response to constant demands to change. Organisations must structure themselves according to the requirements imposed by their objectives and shape of their environment.

Like water, organisations flow around obstacles (the mountains) and challenges (mist & waterfalls), always seeking (eagle looking forward) to follow the most effective path. Water adapts readily to changing circumstances and seeks for alternative paths.

Fjord was forged using this premise, working quickly and adapting readily to changing circumstances.
